2 found with drugs during Wilkes-Barre Twp. search

Feb. 25—WILKES-BARRE TWP. — Police investigating a report of drug trafficking at the East End Center said they found two people in possession of drugs.

Officers responded to the area around 1:10 p.m. Wednesday and encountered Moises Gonzalez, 39, and Autumn Ashford, 33, of Laurel Run.

The pair were found to be in possession of fentanyl, methamphetamine, $604 in cash and a small amount of marijuana, police said.

During the execution of a search warrant on a vehicle Gonzalez was driving, police found a large quantity of packaged fentanyl along with a .45-caliber pistol, ammunition and drug paraphernalia, police said.

Gonzalez is a convicted felon who is prohibited from possessing a firearm, police said.

He was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility on outstanding warrants. Police said charges are pending against Gonzalez and Ashford.
