Butler Arroyo unofficial winner in county Precinct 1

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Jackie Arroyo Butler is the unofficial winner in the Democratic Primary to succeed longtime County Commissioner Carlos Leon in Precinct 1.

Leon is retiring after serving three terms representing East El Paso.

Arroyo Butler, a senior policy adviser to Leon, has 58.66 percent or 5,226 votes after final unofficial results were released at 10:45 p.m.. Pete Faraone, a retired El Paso County Sheriff’s detention officer, trails with 41.34 percent or 3,683 votes.

Former City Rep. Claudia Rodriguez is running unopposed in the Republican Primary, and Ryan Woodcraft, an Army veteran, is running unopposed in the Libertarian Primary.

In Precinct 3, incumbent Iliana Holguin is the unofficial winner with 77.18 percent or 4,823 votes. over Virginia Rodriguez, who has 22.82 percent or 1,426 votes.
