2 dead, 5 hurt in shooting in Northwest DC

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said seven people were hit by gunfire in Northwest early Sunday morning and that two of those people died.

MPD Executive Assistant Chief Jeffrey Carroll said the shooting happened around 3 a.m. near 7th and P streets NW. He added that all those who were shot were adults.
