Key races checkup:

A battle for the “soccer mom” vote in Michigan’s 11th Congressional District pits two moderate, college-educated, suburban women against one another. Democrat Haley Stevens and Republican Lena Epstein are vying for a House seat being vacated by Republican incumbent Dave Trott, and it’s one of the contests Democrats hope will herald a blue wave that gives them back control of the chamber. Democrat Beto O’Rourke held his 70th campaign event in the past two weeks Saturday, in his bid to unseat incumbent GOP Sen. Ted Cruz in Texas’ marquee Senate match-up. Despite taking in a record $47 million in campaign donations since July, O’Rourke lamented that he didn’t have more time to campaign. (Read more)
