2 CPD officers injured in South Side collision between squad car and van overnight
CHICAGO — Two Chicago police officers sustained minor injuries when their squad car collided with a van on the South Side overnight.

According to police, the accident occurred around 1:30 a.m. Sunday in the 4700 block of South Halsted Street, in Back of the Yards, when a squad car occupied by two officers traveling north on Halsted St. collided at an intersection with a van traveling west on 47th St.
The two officers suffered minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital in good condition, police say, while the driver of the van, an adult male, also sustained minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital in good condition.

No further injuries were reported, and police say no citations have been issued.
