California City police were called April 30 to a report of an attempted robbery in the 9000 block of California City Boulevard. They arrived to find a 56-year-old woman being treated for injuries to her face and head.

Police said the victim told them two people — a man and woman — who daily ask her for money entered the business and asked for photocopies. While she made the photocopies, the man grabbed her from behind and tried to drag her into the bathroom, the victim said according to police.

The woman hit her about 30 times with a pole as they tried to force her into the bathroom, the victim told police.

“The female suspect also stated that she did not know the victim but was there to kill her because ‘she is evil,'” police said.
