2 arrested for murder in connection to V Street shooting

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Two men have been arrested for murder in connection to a shooting Thursday in central Bakersfield, police officials said.

The Bakersfield Police Department said Friday Marlon Burch, 31, and Rodney Gipson, 35, were arrested for murder and participation in a criminal street gang in relation to a shooting on V Street that left a man dead.

The victim has not been identified.

Burch and Gipson were booked in the Lerdo Justice Facility and are being held without bail. They are due in court April 30.

Bakersfield police said they were called to V Street near 8th Street in central Bakersfield, on April 25 for a report of a shooting at around 6:45 p.m. A man was found with multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
