2 arrested for driving under the influence, 32 ticketed at checkpoint

(BCN) — Two drivers were arrested for driving under the influence and 32 were cited for driving without a license at a DUI checkpoint on Friday, Novato police said.

Checkpoint locations like the one that was held at De Long Avenue and Redwood Boulevard are determined based on incidents of crashes related to impaired driving, police said Saturday in a press release.

In addition to the two arrests for DUI and 32 citations for unlicensed driving, police arrested one motorist for health and safety violations, cited two motorists for driving on suspended licenses and four for other moving violations.
