2 arrested after Burrito King, Burger King robberies in Madera, police say

MADERA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Two people were arrested following a pair of robberies at two Madera restaurants.

In a post on social media on Friday, the Madera Police Department wrote that the night shift was busy “from sun down to sun up.” The robberies occurred overnight at Burrito King and a Burger King in Madera.

According to the police department, 32-year-old John Vasquez and 34-year-old Robert Strauss were caught by officers as they attempted to flee from a burglary at Burrito King.

At the same time, officers say a third man was arrested in connection with an unconnected burglary at a Tractor Supply Company and an attempted burglary at an Auto Zone. A 39-year-old, identified by police as Joshua Bishop, was arrested in connection with those incidents.
