19-year-old pleads guilty to 10 counts of sexual assault

LOCK HAVEN, CLINTON COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Officials say a man who was charged with sex crimes after being arrested while “suspiciously” walking near an elementary school has pleaded guilty to statutory sexual assault.

According to the Clinton County District Attorney’s Office, 19-year-old Demario Baer from Lock Haven pleaded guilty to ten counts of statutory sexual assault.

The D.A. office states Baer was charged on January 9 after officers discovered evidence of sex crimes involving a 14-year-old victim after Baer was arrested for an incident on January 4.

Baer was involved in an incident on January 4 that resulted in an emergency lockdown for all students and faculty at Robb Elementary School, as noted by officials.

Police have charged Baer with terroristic threats, possession of a weapon on school property, and possessing instruments of crime, after allegedly waving a firearm outside of Robb Elementary School.

Clinton County District Attorney’s Office said Baer is awaiting trial in the terroristic threats case, a jury is expected to be selected in July.

Bear is in custody with bail set at $240,000 and will be sentenced in August.
