19-year-old arrested in Lemoore after exchanging gunfire, police say

LEMOORE, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A 19-year-old was arrested after two groups allegedly exchanged gunfire and immediately fled the scene Saturday in Lemoore, according to the Lemoore Police Department.

Police say on Saturday around 4 p.m. officers were called to the 100 block of E. D Street for a report of gunshots heard in the area.

Investigators say several shell casings at two different locations were located and they determined that two groups exchanged gunfire and immediately fled the scene. Detectives says they identified one of the suspects as 19-year-old David Donavan Rodarte.

Rodarte was located and placed under arrest Sunday. Investigators say a search warrant was served at his home following the arrest.

During the search, police say a Mini Draco 7.62 caliber rifle, large capacity magazines, illegal narcotics for sale, and ammunition were recovered as a result of the search. The shell casings found at the scene of the shooting matched the caliber of the rifle located in the residence.

Police say Rodarte was booked at the Kings County Jail on suspicion of the shooting, several firearm violations, and having narcotics for sale.
