18th Street building goes up in flames

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Fire crews raced to the call of a massive structure fire located in downtown Bakersfield Saturday evening.

On April 20, the building could be seen burning in the 1900 block of 18th Street. Just after 7:30 p.m., firefighters were seen using tools to gain access to the flames.

Caught in a deadlock? Kern in-home care providers and supervisors expected to declare an ‘impasse’

No injuries have been reported at this time and the cause of this fire is under investigation.

This is the second fire in one week in downtown Bakersfield. The last fire was reported inside the Woolworth’s located on 19th Street, last Saturday.
