18-year-old shot multiple times in Chula Vista; suspect at large
CHULA VISTA, Calif. — An 18-year-old is injured and the suspect remains at large after a shooting in Chula Vista on Tuesday, according to the Chula Vista Police Department (CVPD).
Officers from CVPD responded to reports of gunshots at an apartment complex in the 1300 block of Santa Rita in Chula Vista at 11:44 a.m. Tuesday.

When police arrived on the scene, they found an 18-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds, a CVPD spokesperson confirmed to FOX 5.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital. CVPD said in an update Tuesday evening he is in stable condition with what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries.
Police report the suspect fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction. A description of the suspect has not yet been provided.
The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call San Diego County Crime Stoppers.
