VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Virginia Beach police arrested a 17-year-old boy in connection to a fatal shooting on Level Green Boulevard.

The 17-year-old has been charged with second degree murder and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

On Friday, April 5 just before 11 p.m. officers responded to a shots fired call on the 1300 block of Level Green Boulevard. Upon arrival, they found a shooting victim that paramedics later pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

The victim was identified as 21-year-old Kalani Bailey-Cortez was pronounced dead at the scene.
