TSTC received more than $179,000 from the Skill Development Fund to go towards training programs for staff that the college provides. Quality Manager for Hendrick, Michelle Mauldin, expressed how these training programs have made for more well-rounded and effective medical staff in their facilities.

Joe Esparza, a Representative of Employers for the Texas Workforce Commission, presented the grant to TSTC and gave highlights as to why the school, through their partnership with Hendrick, was chosen for this donation.

“Hendrick was chosen because they were basically a partner with the training college,” said Esparza. “You have our folks that are looking to gain credentials in a certain area, and in this case, it’s health care, which is absolutely a critical need both in the state and in our regional and rural workforce areas.”
