17-year-old hurt in weekend Decatur shooting

DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — A 17-year-old is recovering after he was grazed by a bullet over the weekend in Decatur.

The shooting happened Saturday morning in the area of North College and West Sawyer Streets. Decatur Police Sergeant Brian Earles said the teen was driving at the intersection when he was grazed in the back by a shot. He went to the hospital for medical treatment.

Earles added the teen did not know why he was shot at.
