17-year-old girl stabbed to death in the Bronx: NYPD

BRONX - A 15-year-old girl has been charged in the stabbing death of a 17-year-old girl in the Bronx, the NYPD said.

The incident happened on Thursday just after 2 p.m. in the Soundview section, near Boynton and Watson avenues.

According to police, the victim, identified as Emery Mizell, was stabbed in the chest. She was rushed to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police charged the 15-year-old with murder, manslaughter and unlawful possession of a weapon.

A motive for the stabbing was unknown at the time.
