A teenage boy was shot and killed in south Phoenix on Tuesday night, Phoenix police said.
Just before 9 p.m., officers responded to the area of Seventh Avenue and Alta Vista Road for reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found the 17-year-old Marc Leyva with multiple gunshot wounds.
Leyva was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
A neighbor said they heard multiple gunshots and saw two people run from the scene toward different apartment complexes.
Phoenix police spokesperson Sgt. Melissa Soliz told The Arizona Republic that no arrests had been made in connection with the incident.
Those with information were urged to contact Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS or 480-TESTIGO to provide an anonymous tip.
No other information had been released.
17-year-old boy Jamiere Jenkins was shot in San Tan Valley on Tuesday evening, just a few hours before Leyva was killed.
Police said on Tuesday that an arrest had been made on two underage teens suspected in the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Hailey Stephens in Casa Grande.
Authorities were still investigating the Oct. 28 fatal assault of 16-year-old Preston Lord in nearby Queen Creek.
