17-year-old hospitalized after being hit by vehicle in southwest Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A 17-year-old was in critical condition after police said they were hit by a vehicle in the southwest valley.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to the area of Quarterhorse Lane and Mountains Edge Parkway near South El Capitan Way at around 12:40 p.m.

Police said a vehicle hit a 17-year-old pedestrian. Medical personnel took them to a local hospital in critical condition.

As of 3:20 p.m., the 17-year-old’s injuries were deemed non-life-threatening.

The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and police said impairment is not suspected at this time.

Police ask that the public avoid the area.
