17-year-old boy arrested in shooting of Charlotte man in Cleveland County

CLEVELAND COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in connection to the shooting of a Charlotte man in Cleveland County, the sheriff’s office said.

The shooting happened at 3:50 p.m. Thursday, May 16, in the area of Kim Drive and Shaw Street in southern Cleveland County.

As deputies arrived at the scene they found Kenneth Patterson, of Charlotte, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to Atrium Shelby and then flown to Atrium Charlotte.

According to the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office, a 17-year-old boy was identified as the suspect in this shooting. He is now in the custody of the Dept. of Juvenile Justice.

As of Friday afternoon, Patterson is listed in stable condition at Atrium Charlotte.
