16-year-old boy found shot twice in jaw Monday night in Chicago Lawn neighborhood, police say

A 16-year-old boy was shot twice in the jaw wounded Monday night in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side, Chicago police said.

Shortly after 8:30 p.m., officers responded to a call of a person shot in the 6900 block of South Western Avenue and found a 16-year-old boy with two gunshot wounds to his jaw, police said.

He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was listed in fair condition, police said.

The boy was unable to tell officers about the details leading up to him being shot due to his injuries. No one was in custody.
