Sixteen people are missing following a Russian attack on the Epicenter hypermarket in Kharkiv, Ukraine's Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko reported on Telegram on May 26.

"The fire at the Kharkiv construction hypermarket took more than 16 hours to extinguish, covering over 13,000 square meters," Klymenko said. "Thanks to the continuous heroic work of the rescuers, the fire was completely extinguished."

Police and forensic teams are currently working at the scene.

The identities of three deceased individuals have been established, with ongoing efforts to identify other victims.

"Anyone who has lost contact with loved ones can reach out to the investigation department staff or call 102," Klymenko added. He also urged first-line relatives to provide DNA samples to expedite the identification process.

On May 25, an explosion occurred in Kharkiv. It was later revealed that the attackers targeted the Epicenter in a residential area, striking two fire trucks and igniting a fire that spread across 15,000 square meters.

It is estimated that up to 200 people might have been inside the Epicenter at the time of the attack.

The Russians later launched another strike on the city, targeting Central Park.

The attack on the Epicenter shopping mall resulted in 13 deaths, with ten of the victims yet to be identified. Additionally, 43 people were injured.
