6PM Update:

Columbus, GA. (WRBL)-Imagine a community receiving life-threatening information in an instant!  NOAA weather radios totaling 15 Hundred…

This will be the case for ALL public buildings in the city of Columbus thanks to a grant in the amount of 39 thousand dollars by FEMA and GEMA, written by Muscogee County EMA Homeland Security Director, Chance Corbett.

Corbett and The First Alert Weather team reminds us never to rely on the outdoor sirens as your primary source for severe weather warnings…

Instead trust a NOAA Weather radio, with an average of 13 minutes of response time after a warning has been issued.

Now Columbus Council Chambers, alongside public buildings, local senior centers, and places of worship will be equipped with NOAA weather radios.

Corbett’s mission is to make sure that the City of Columbus is better prepared when life-threatening weather is imminent.
