15-year-old killed in Gravois Park shooting

ST. LOUIS — Homicide detectives have been called in to South City and are leading the investigation into this case that happened Tuesday night.

At this time, no suspects are in custody as authorities try to piece together the facts of this case.

The police got the call right about 11 p.m. last night. This shooting unfolded on the 2700 block of Miami in South City, near the intersection with Ohio in the Gravois Park neighborhood.

Authorities say this was an outside scene, and multiple evidence markers could be seen in the area.

The police tell us a 15-year-old girl was shot in the head. We’re told the child was not conscious or breathing at the scene.

Police say she was rushed to the hospital by ambulance, but tragically, she did not survive. The teen was pronounced dead at the hospital.

At this point, we have no word from the police on what may have led to the shooting.

Authorities tell us no one else was hurt in the violence.
