15-year-old critical after South Side shooting

CHICAGO — A 15-year-old boy was critically wounded in a South Side shooting Wednesday morning.

Police said the boy was in the 800 block of West 52nd Street just after 11:35 a.m. when two unknown males approached on foot and opened fire.

The 15-year-old sustained gunshot wounds to the chest and arms. He was transported to the University Chicago Medical Center in critical condition.

CPD said the gunmen fled eastbound.
