147 student doctors graduate from Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM) celebrated its fifth graduating class on Friday, May 3.

The ceremony took place at the NMSU Pan American Center in Las Cruces.

BCOM says 147 student doctors graduated on Friday, making it the largest graduating class among medical schools in the region this year.

“This achievement also comes on the heels of BCOM receiving the highest accreditation from American Osteopathic Association (AOA) Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA); which is Ten Years with Exceptional Outcome and affirming BCOM’s commitment and dedication in warranting the success of our student doctors,” BCOM said.

BCOM says the graduating doctors have placed into high profile residency programs, including the following:

  • Allergy and immunology

  • Anesthesiology

  • Dermatology

  • Diagnostic radiology

  • Emergency medicine

  • Family medicine

  • Internal medicine

  • Medical genetics

  • Neurology

  • Nuclear medicine

  • Obstetrics and gynecology

  • Ophthalmology

  • Pathology

  • Pediatrics

  • Physical medicine and rehabilitation

  • Preventive medicine

  • Psychiatry

  • Radiation oncology

  • Surgery

  • Urology

“This commencement ceremony represents a culmination of years of hard work and dedication from our graduating students.
