14-year-old boy critically wounded, marking 1 of 3 injured in Wilmington shootings Thursday

A 14-year-old boy is in critical condition after an accidental shooting inside a home in Wilmington on Thursday afternoon, according to the Wilmington Police Department.

Police said they were called to the 200 block of W. 30th St. at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. There, they found a 15-year-old boy at the scene with the victim, according to police, and later arrested him as a suspect.

The 14-year-old was taken to the hospital in critical condition, police said, and the 15-year-old was charged with first-degree assault and illegal possession of a gun.

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on $22,500 unsecured bail, according to police.

Five hours later, Wilmington police responded to a shooting in the city's East Side neighborhood.

The shooting occurred near Shearman and Lombard streets around 8:45 p.m., police said. A 25-year-old man and a 23-year-old man were both taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds, police said.

Both men were reported to be in "stable condition," according to police.
