13 projects in Ohio see state tax credit approval

Verizon among companies to see approval of state tax credit for job creation projects in Ohio

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Verizon Wireless is among several companies that have received approval for job creation tax credits for their proposals in Ohio.

The Ohio Tax Credit Authority on Monday approved assistance for 13 projects expected to create more than 1,400 jobs and retain close to 3,000 positions statewide.

The tax credit body reviewed proposals from the economic development nonprofit, JobsOhio, and its regional partners. Together the projects are expected to result in more than $57 million in new payroll, and spur about $86 million in investment across Ohio.

Verizon plans to add 500 full-time positions as a result of the company's consolidation project in the Columbus suburb of Hilliard.

Epipheo Inc. in Cincinnati, which produces online marketing videos, expects to add 100 full-time jobs to its payroll.
