11-year-old reports triple murder after she was grazed by bullet

LAWTEY, Fla. (WJW) – An 11-year-old bravely reported the shooting deaths of her grandmother and two aunts in Florida on Tuesday, after she was also grazed by a bullet.

According to a press release from the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office, the department received multiple phone calls from the child in reference to the shooting.

When deputies arrived at the scene in Lawtey, Florida around 2 a.m., they found 46-year-old Johnnie Bernard Brown walking in the front yard with several cuts on his body.

Deputies eventually found all three women inside the home with multiple gunshot wounds. The three women were pronounced dead, according to the release.

The 11-year-old girl had a non-life-threatening injury and was taken to the hospital, according to the release.

According to local news station WCJB, the girl came out of the home and told deputies her grandmother and two other women were dead inside.

According to WCJB, Brown was charged with three counts of second-degree murder and one count of attempted murder.

He was taken to the hospital for treatment before being taken to jail, according to WCJB.

This investigation is ongoing, according to the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office.
