Acne is a lifelong struggle for many people. In fact, there are up to 50 million Americans who are affected by this common skin condition annually, according to the American Academy of Dermatology. We’ve all dealt with it on some level, whether as a result of not getting a good night’s sleep, bingeing on ice cream, forgetting to wash off our makeup before bed, or simply hormonal changes in the body.

In case you forgot, celebrities are real people who experience the same issues we deal with, and acne is certainly one of them. We know this from all the celeb-endorsed Proactiv commercials. The acne-solution system was launched in 1995 by two dermatologists, and the brand has tapped a slew of stars to share their personal acne struggles in commercials over the years.
