100,000 Black women are being asked to take part in cancer study

It's expected to be the largest behavioral and environmental-focused population study of cancer risk when it comes to Black women, according to a news release. Click here to learn more about the study. Researchers are seeking 100,000 Black women to participate. Enrollment opened on May 6 for a number of states including California. Data shows Black women continue to have the highest death rate and the shortest survival of any racial or ethnic group in the U.S. for most cancers. The lead researcher on the project and Senior Vice President of Population Science, Dr. Alpa Patel, joined KCRA 3 to discuss the project.
