10 Most Anticipated Fall Movies

Dory has been found, the ghosts have been busted, and now it’s time to look forward to what the fall movie season offers. Variety chief film critics Owen Gleiberman and Peter Debruge comb through the next few months of movies, sharing the 10 they’re most excited to see between now and early December, when the holiday/awards movie season takes over. Keep in mind, our critics cover the film festival circuit, so titles that premiered at Sundance (where they both saw “Birth of a Nation”), Cannes (where “Elle” premiered), and Toronto (which launched “La La Land”) don’t necessarily appear — though that still leaves plenty of fantastic beasts to be found.
