1 seriously hurt in shooting outside Huntersville Walmart, MEDIC says

Someone was taken to the hospital Wednesday afternoon after a shooting at a Huntersville Walmart, authorities said.

Paramedics said before 4:30 p.m. they were called to the Walmart on Bryton Town Center Drive, which is at the intersection of Eastfield Road and Old Statesville Road.

Chopper 9 Skyzoom flew over the scene where crime scene tape surrounded a car in the parking lot.

Police said after the shooting that the gunman fled.

Police said it appears the two may have known each other but they don’t know what led up to the shooting.

There is no danger to the public as the investigation continues. Walmart remained open.

No other injuries were reported.

There has been no word on an arrest.
