1 person transported to off-Cape hospital after 3-car crash that closed Route 6

A three-car crash on Route 6 late Tuesday afternoon sent one person to a Boston hospital and closed a section of the state highway between Exit 82 and Exit 85 (old exits 10 and 11), according to state police.

One person was taken by a MedFlight helicopter to Massachusetts General Hospital, according to state police. The helicopter landed at Cape Cod Regional Technical High School in Harwich to transport the injured person.

Two drivers were transported Cape Cod Hospital with minor injuries, said Harwich fire Capt. Joseph Mayo. None of the three cars involved had passengers.

Harwich Fire Department received the call of the crash at 4:36 p.m., he said.

A section of Route 6 was closed and was still closed as of about 6 p.m., Mayo said.

Exit 82 is at the junction of Route 124 in Harwich and Exit 85 is at junction of Route 137 in Brewster.
