Kevin Castillo lives a few houses down from the home where the shooting happened.
He said it’s not uncommon to hear gunshots, but this time was different.
“Two to three times a week we hear shots, far away from here,” Castillo said. “Like I don’t know 5-10 minutes. But yesterday, we heard them really close, really close from this house.”
Channel 9 spoke with another neighbor who said the family has only lived at the house for about one month.
“I’m so sorry that happened. That’s just so heartbreaking because I have a 1-year-old too, and I don’t have any guns or anything in my home. I’m sorry that happened to a 1-year-old over here,” the neighbor said.
Police said the boy will be OK.
Police said they are not searching for a suspect in this case.
