Interstate 71 fully reopens after overturned semitruck closed northbound lanes for hours
All lanes have reopened on northbound Interstate 71 after a semitruck overturned near I-275 early Thursday, which closed the highway at the busiest time of the morning rush.
The crash was reported around 7:35 a.m., causing significant delays to traffic for most of the morning. Officials eventually reopened a single lane and reopened all lanes shortly after 12 p.m.
The ramp from Pfeiffer Road to northbound I-71 has also been reopened.
“Expect significant delays for the next few hours. Please be mindful (that) emergency crews are on the roadway working. Slow down and give them room to work,” Blue Ash police wrote in a social media post at 9:30 am.
The semi driver went to Bethesda North Hospital with a non-life-threatening injury, according to Blue Ash Police Captain Roger Pohlman.
Police had advised drivers to detour onto the Ronald Reagan Highway.
Blue Ash police thanked the public for its patience while they keep working to clear the crash.
