1 killed in Blendon Township crash

BLENDON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A Wyoming woman was killed in a Friday morning crash in Blendon Township.

Around 7:45 a.m., deputies with the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office were sent to the area of 72nd Avenue and Tyler Street for a crash.

Responding deputies learned that westbound red sedan, driven by a 28-year-old Wyoming woman, had stopped at a stop sign. When the sedan started to go through the intersection, it was hit by a northbound cement truck. The cement truck was driven by a 43-year-old Zeeland man.

The Wyoming woman died, the sheriff’s office said. Her name has not been released pending notification.

The intersection was closed for several hours while crews investigated. It has since been reopened.

The crash remains under investigation.
