1 injured at Park Towers shooting in downtown Rochester on Friday

Oct. 20—ROCHESTER — A female was shot at the Park Towers Apartments in downtown Rochester Friday, Oct. 20, 2023, according to a news release from the Rochester Police Department.

Officers are currently on scene and there is no threat to the public, according to RPD.

A suspect has been detained. Police recovered a handgun.

The female suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Park Towers management did not respond to a request for comment. It appears that the shooting happened inside the apartment complex.

The 16-story building contains 166 rental units and provides housing for seniors and the disabled.
