1 injured, lane closed after I-40 crash involving motorcycle

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A crash on I-40 involving a motorcyclist left one person severely injured Wednesday night, according to Memphis Police.

Officers responded to the two-vehicle crash at I-40 west and Appling Road just after 9 p.m. A man was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

Police are asking drivers to avoid the area as officers work to investigate and clear the scene.

The left westbound lane and the left shoulder are blocked at this time.
