1 dead after shooting at Clarksville bar

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Authorities have launched an investigation into a deadly overnight shooting at a Clarksville bar.

According to the Clarksville Police Department, a 911 call was made just before 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 28 about a shooting that had occurred inside Smooves Bar and Grill in the 2100 block of Ft. Campbell Boulevard.

Officials said the caller stated one person had been shot inside the business and sustained a gunshot wound to their abdomen.

When officers arrived on scene, they said they located the victim and provided medical aid until EMS arrived. The victim was taken to Tennova Healthcare by Montgomery County EMS, according to police.

Authorities reported the victim was pronounced dead after arriving at Tennova Healthcare. His name will not be released until officials are able to notify his family.

An investigation into the shooting remains ongoing. Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call 911 or Detective DeJesus at (931) 648-0656.
