Suspected OVI driver crashes into Dayton building

A driver accused of being under the influence of narcotics crashed into a building in Dayton on Tuesday, according to a Dayton Police Department spokesperson.

Around 12:20 p.m., Dayton police and medics were dispatched to the 100 block of Riverside Drive on reports of a car into a structure, a Montgomery County dispatch supervisor confirmed.

The dispatch supervisor told News Center 7 that one person was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, but the department’s spokesperson said there were no injuries.

The driver crashed into the building at a slow speed and left minor damage, according to the dispatch supervisor.

The department’s spokesperson said the driver was cited with OVI and Failure to Control.
