Police pursuing leads after 19-year-old shot, killed in Madison

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) is pursuing strong leads after a 19-year-old was killed in a Madison shooting.

According to the MNPD, the shooting happened just after 3 p.m. on Monday, May 13 in a field off North Gallatin Pike and McKinley Street.

Authorities said a preliminary investigation “strongly indicates” that 19-year-old Kenneth Buford Jr. was shot by someone he knew.

Buford Jr. was taken to TriStar Skyline Medical Center where he died, according to investigators.

Police described the suspect as a man wearing green pants and a light-colored hoodie. They are currently trying to determine if he was/is on foot or in a vehicle.
