1 dead in SF motorcycle crash on US-101

(KRON) — The San Francisco Fire Department confirmed the death of a person in a motorcycle crash on US-101 on Thursday.

At approximately 2:29 p.m., the California Highway Patrol received alerts of a white SUV crashing into a motorcycle on the Westbound 80 / Southbound 101 connector. The crash blocked the first two lanes of the US101, CHP said.

At 3:25 p.m., CHP announced Southbound 101 closures to eastbound 80. Several minutes later, CHP confirmed the death of the motorcyclist. No additional information on the death is currently available as of this report.

Southbound 101 to eastbound 80 remains closed. CHP said traffic delays are expected and advised drivers to find an alternate route.

As of 3:47 p.m., all lanes were open, CHP said.
