Garden Grove man dies following crash along I-5 near Copus Rd
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A Garden Grove man has died following a crash Tuesday afternoon along Interstate 5 south of Bakersfield.
The collision was reported at around 4:40 p.m. along southbound lanes of I-5 near Copus Road north of the I-5 and Highway 99 split, according to the California Highway Patrol.

According to officers, the 43-year-old driver of the Nissan van allowed the vehicle to drift to the right off the road. The vehicle went off the shoulder and crashed through two barbed wire fences and came to a rest on a dirt field, CHP said.
The Garden Grove man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials said drugs or alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash.
The coroner’s office will release the drivers identity at a later date.
