1 dead after fire in north Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — One person died overnight Friday into Saturday after a structure fire broke out in north Austin.

The Austin Fire Department responded to a call in the 11000 block of Indianhead Drive shortly after 1:15 a.m. Crews were able to knock down the fire and worked to overhaul and ventilate the structure.

Austin-Travis County treated a victim AFD pulled from the fire who was in cardiac arrest.

ATCEMS later said the patient died after extensive resuscitative efforts were unsuccessful. AFD said investigators were working to determine the cause of the fire.
