1 dead in crash on DuSable Lake Shore Drive
CHICAGO — A 25-year-old man was killed in a car crash on DuSable Lake Shore Drive overnight.
The accident happened around 12:15 a.m. Thursday in the 3100 block of North DuSable Lake Shore Drive.
Police said a 20-year-old man was driving northbound when he swerved to avoid hitting another vehicle in traffic. The driver struck a curb and a light pole.
The passenger in the vehicle, a 25-year-old man, was transported to Northwestern Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The medical examiner has identified the victim as Jorge A. Castillo of Des Plaines.

The 20-year-old driver was transported to the same hospital and is listed in fair condition.
The Major Accidents Unit is investigating.
