1 dead, 1 arrested after fight inside home in Bronzeville

CHICAGO — A 36-year-old man was killed after an altercation inside a home in the city’s Bronzeville neighborhood.

It happened in the 2700 block of South Michigan Avenue around 9:35 p.m. Thursday. Police said a 42-year-old man and a 36-year-old man got into a verbal altercation inside a residence.

The 36-year-old made verbal threats against the 42-year-old and it escalated to a physical altercation, police said.

According to police, the 36-year-old sustained trauma to the body and was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The 42-year-old was place into custody when police arrived to the scene.

Area Three Detectives are investigating.
