1 arrested, raids at 2 homes net $24,000, cocaine, gun and Lexus, NC police say
ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C. (WNCN) — A convicted felon was arrested after raids at two homes last week uncovered drugs, $24,000 in cash and led to the seizure of a Lexus sedan, Roanoke Rapids police said.
Both drug raids came after residents gave information to police about the activities at the homes, police said.
Search warrants were served before 5 a.m. on Tuesday at a home on Zoo Road South and another house on New Hope Street, according to a news release from the Roanoke Rapids Police Department.
In the Zoo Road South home, 770 grams of cocaine, around 3.5 pounds of marijuana, 147 Oxycodone pills, a gun, and $12,999 in cash were seized.

At the New Hope Street house, police seized $11,851 in cash stemming from illegal drug sales.
A 2007 Lexus GS350 sedan that was registered to the suspect was also seized at the New Hope Street home, according to police.
Alston Lamont Parker, 38, of Roanoke Rapids turned himself in at the Magistrates Office in Northampton County early Wednesday morning, police said.
Parker previously served eight years in federal prison, the news release said.
Officials said Parker was charged with:
Trafficking cocaine
Possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine
Felony possession of cocaine
Felony possession of marijuana
Possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana
Felony maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Possession of a firearm by a felon
Parker was later released on a $75,000 bond.
