1 arrested after leading deputies on a chase from Cullman County into Morgan County

MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — One person was arrested after leading deputies on a chase through multiple counties on Tuesday.

According to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), the chase started in Cullman and made its way into Morgan County along Highway 67.

Deputies from MCSO assisted during the chase and were able to arrest one male after he started to run on foot near Johnson Dairy Rd in Somerville.

Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry issued the following statement regarding the pursuit.

Earlier today an incident occurred at Parkside School in which the School Resource Deputy attempted to arrest a subject who was causing issues at the school. The subject resisted and ultimately fled in a vehicle. This led to an extended car pursuit that ended in Morgan County after multiple agencies joined in the pursuit. The subject is in custody. There is no threat to the community. It is still an active and ongoing investigation. Further information will be provided as it becomes available.

The man will be transported back to Cullman after he fled from a school SRO. The Arab Police Department, AST, and Blount County also assisted during the incident.
