1 arrested in Cheesman Park stabbing

DENVER (KDVR) — The Denver Police Department arrested a man on suspicion of stabbing a person Sunday night in Cheesman Park.

According to the department, the stabbing took place at about 9:32 p.m. at 1599 E. 8th Ave. When officers arrived on scene, witnesses pointed out the suspect to officers, police said.

Denver police said investigators are not aware of any relationship between the suspect and victim prior to the stabbing.

Police investigate stabbing in Cherry Creek North

Officers were subsequently able to arrest the suspect safely. The agency identified him as Dustin Ronfeldt, 43, and said he is being held on investigation of first-degree assault with a deadly weapon.

The victim, a man, was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.

The investigation into the circumstances of the stabbing is ongoing.
